Controlling House Ants

There are natural ants repellent in your kitchen that can help you get rid of ants. Lemon is a key ingredient of any kitchen around the world. But did you know that can use lemon juice as ant repellent? Yes. Locate the entry point of ants and pour in some lemon juice in it and they will be gone. Similarly, you may like to use ground cinnamon; put it at the entry point or where they may be hiding to get rid of house ants.

In order to prevent these ants from appearing, you should pay more attention to how you are cleaning your floors and kitchen tops. Use Vinegar and Water solution to mop and clean your floors, especially the kitchen and dining area floors and you can easily stop them from appearing.

Cockroach Repellent

Cockroaches are terrible and most of you hate it. But you can get rid of cockroaches using al natural homemade repellent. Here’s how to make it. Take 2 tablespoons of hot sauce and add it to 1 quart of water and shake it to mix it properly. Put this solution into a spray bottle and spray it around where you found the cockroaches and roaches will never return for quite some time.

Mixture of soap and water can also be used like a good cockroach repellent. Have this soap water solution ready and as and when you see a cockroach, simply pour a few droops on it. It will die of suffocation because of soap.

But you know what, cleaning is the best solution and there is nothing better you could practice to remove cockroaches from kitchen and bathroom of your home.

Trapping House Flies

Flies are common because they are attracted to sweetness of any nature even fruits. They are very irritating and unhygienic. But you can trap and get rid of them very easily. Put a 20-30 ml of apple cider vinegar in a glass and cover the top with the paper. Just make a smaller hole on top of the paper so that flies can enter inside. Flies will get attracted to the sweetness, but once inside the glass, they will struggle to come out and die. Just empty the glass in your dustbin.

Bed Bug Removal

Bed bugs can be dangerous but it’s easier to get rid of them using natural homemade repellents. Take one teaspoon of peppermint, one teaspoon of rosemary oils and add this mixture into two cups of water. Mix it well to make a solution and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray this repellent on the bed, mattress and also on the floors around your bed to get rid of bed bug.

Termites Traps

Among all other bugs and insects, termite is one of the most critical and dangerous bug. One of the easiest ways to get rid of termite is to dry them by exposing your furniture to direct sunlight. But you can also make traps to catch and destroy the termites. One of the easiest traps can be made using cardboard. Making cardboard trap to catch termite is simple; take a few cardboard sheets, stack them over one another and sprinkle some water on it to wet them. Now place it near the furniture where you have noticed termite. When termites enter this new trap, take it out and throw or burn it. Repeat this process till you get rid of them.

Boric acid can also be used to kill termites. Just identify the spot and sprinkle it around the affected area. Usually Boric acid is not harmful to humans but please take proper pre-cautions when using.

As I said earlier, pest control and removal is a continuous process that one should practice at home to keep pests and rodents away from home. I am sharing a few other essential pest control procedures that should help you house pest free.

  • Pests come from outside and so your pest control practices should include exterior part of your house as well.
  • Keep the exterior of your house e.g. garden, stairways, garage etc neat and clean.
  • Remove old rotten wood stacks or similar dirt possibly.
  • If there are trees outside that touches your house, just trim them, else pests could use these trees like a bridge to enter your house.
  • Take care of any cracks and wholes near common entry points of pests like main entrance door or windows.
  • Encourage your neighbors, especially when you are living in modern housing societies or multi storied buildings.
  • Make it a point to clean sink and drains every week or every alternate week.

Cleaning is the best home pest control tips you could follow. When you keep it clean chances are they will not appear so easily. But some flies are attracted to even lights and for that you may like to change the light to trap them.
